Shelton Police Asking For Help Identifying Man Wanted In Purse Snatching

Shelton Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly snatched a purse from an 82-year-old woman more than two months ago.

The incident took place while the woman was standing in line at Planet Pizza at 350 Bridgeport Ave., in Shelton, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.

According to Bango, the woman was standing in line when a man snatched the purse and fled in an older model gold Toyota Corolla.

The man is described as a white male in his late 30s to early 40s, with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair.

Since the robbery took place the Shelton Police Department received several tips, but none that lead to the identity of the suspect, Bango said.

The department is re-releasing the photos in hopes that someone recognizes the vehicle, Bango added.
